Itinerary

Day 1: Zanzibar – Arusha – Ndutu
Day 2: Ndutu- Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

Day 1:

Zanzibar - Arusha - Ndutu

You will be picked up from a Zanzibar hotel and transferred to Zanzibar Airport. During the flight departing from Zanzibar Airport, you will fly overhead the Indian Ocean and the hinterland of Tanzania to Arusha City. Reaching the Arusha Airport you will meet our guide and begin drive to Ndutu Southern Serengeti. Journey on with a game drive within Ndutu Plains in search of wildebeest migration. Serengeti means “endless plain” in the Maasai language. The southern plain is where this name comes from. The vast grassy plains stretch as far as your eyes can see. It is in the southeast plain of Serengeti where the expanse herds of wildebeest migration stay from December through April. 90% of adult female wildebeest give birth in this plain during February. During this time predators such as lions, cheetahs and hyenas are seen in good numbers as their prey is in abundance. Dinner and overnight stay at Ndutu Heritage Camp.
Accommodation: Ndutu Heritage Camp

Day 2:

Ndutu- Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha

Breakfast at the camp then you will drive to Ngorongoro Crater for a wonderful game drive. Ngorongoro Crater is just one of those places that has to be seen – words alone cannot do it justice. Leaving our lodge we’ll drive down into what was once, many eons ago, the fiery heart of a huge volcano. Today this natural amphitheatre has a much more peaceful atmosphere as Wildebeest, Coke’s Hartebeest, Grant’s and Thomson’s Gazelles, and Common Zebra feed contentedly – or at least as contentedly as the ever present Lions and Cheetah will allow, although the Black Rhinoceros here will be less concerned about these predators. The bird life in the crater varies according to the seasons but during our visit we should see Grey Crowned Crane, Lappet-faced Vulture, Black-bellied and Kori Bustards, Fischer’s Lovebird and Northern Anteater Chat among many others. Lunch to be saved at the designated picnic site in the Crater. Later you will drive to Arusha Airport for your flight to Zanzibar.
